This season’s first Bearded Iris showed it’s happy face today.

This one has delighted us for several years now blooming in the Spring and again in the fall when the weather cools off. My neighbors probably think I’m a bit weird but I cannot help but stop to smell it as I pass by as it is the sweetest smelling Bearded Iris I have ever known. I wish I could tell you the name of it but silly me did not save the tag when I purchased it.
The Bearded Iris is one of the easiest plants to grow so it’s a favorite among North Carolina gardeners. It doesn’t require much in the way of feeding and watering but to keep them blooming with nice big showy blooms they should be divided periodically.
I love to share my divisions with friends neighbors and clients. If you would like to benefit, please e-mail me and I will put you on my list for this summer’s division.
